The route
Where exactly we shoot in Notting Hill
Everything below is within a fifteen-minute walk of Westbourne Park station. A one-hour session covers three or four of these; half an hour covers St Luke’s Mews and one colourful street. We send you the order in advance, built around which streets are quiet at your hour.
St Luke’s Mews
A cobbled mews of painted cottages, climbing plants and flower boxes, and the most photographed street in Notting Hill. Number 27, the pink house, is the one from Love Actually. These are private homes, so we work from the cobbles and keep the doorsteps clear.
Best time: Weekday mornings.
The pastel terraces
The rows of white, pink, blue and yellow houses the area is known for are spread over several streets rather than one. On the day we pick the stretch with the fewest parked cars and no scaffolding, so the colours run unbroken behind you.
Best time: Before 10am, before the visitors arrive.
The quieter mews
Notting Hill has more mews than St Luke’s: cobbled lanes of former stables with greenery up the walls. They give the same village feel with almost nobody else in the frame.
Best time: Any time of day.
Portobello Road
Antique shops, painted shopfronts and the market stalls. Lively and colourful, and at its busiest on Saturdays, when the main market trades. On a weekday morning it is a different street.
Best time: Weekday mornings; avoid Saturday midday.
Light and crowds
The best hour to photograph Notting Hill
Weekday mornings. These are residential streets, so before about 10am it is mostly neighbours and deliveries, and the light falls softly between the terraces. Overcast days suit Notting Hill: the pastel colours stay true instead of burning out in direct sun.
Two times to avoid if you can: the August bank holiday weekend, when the Notting Hill Carnival takes over the streets, and Saturdays around midday, when the Portobello Road market is shoulder to shoulder.
How busy Notting Hill is, hour by hour
Before 10am on a weekday: residents, dog walkers and a few photographers. This is the window.
10am to 1pm: visitors arrive for the colourful houses, and St Luke’s Mews gets busy around number 27.
Saturday: the market trades all day and the side streets fill with visitors.
Late afternoon: quieter again as the day visitors leave.

Where we meet, and what it costs
We meet at the end of St Luke’s Mews, by the street sign, a short walk from Westbourne Park station. You get a map pin and a photo of the exact spot the day before, and your photographer messages you that morning on WhatsApp, so if a train is late or the sky opens, there is a direct line.
Westbourne Park is on the Hammersmith & City and Circle lines; Notting Hill Gate, on the Central, Circle and District lines, is about twenty minutes’ walk to the south. If you are staying nearby we can start at your door instead and walk over together.
Every session includes the planned route, full direction from the first minute, hand-edited photos in a private gallery within one week and behind-the-scenes clips the same evening. Easy cancellation, easy refund.
